WECO GMQ-SET5-50 EZ Twist Replacement Filter Set

The WECO GMQ-50X EZ Twist reverse osmosis filtration system is the ideal compact water purification filter for home use. This complete replacement filter set is compatible with the WECO CRO5075 countertop RO system. The filtration process starts by pre-filtering the water through a Sediment filter (ST-05), which removes tiny particles such as iron oxide (rust), silt, and sand grains, protecting the family from drinking sediment and preventing the filtration system from clogging.

In the second stage, the water flows through an activated carbon cartridge (ST-33). This carbon filter removes taste and odor-causing chemicals like chlorine, chloramine, and rotten-egg (hydrogen sulfide) odors. The carbon cartridge also removes organic contaminants that seep into groundwater and the cancer-causing byproducts, called THMs, created by the chlorine adding process by municipalities.

The next filtration stage involves the reverse osmosis (RO) process. Tap water is "squeezed" through a special Thin Film Composite (TFC) semi-permeable membrane (ST-RO50), removing heavy metals like lead, cadmium, and mercury. The RO process also removes salts, nitrate, fluoride, radon, and benzene, providing pure, refreshing drinking water.

The final stage includes a Granular activated carbon filter (ST-CTO) for additional chlorine and organics reduction, followed by a Post carbon filter (ST-34) for further taste and odor reduction.
